French Graduate Teaching Assistantships
The French Studies Program offers qualified full-time graduate students the opportunity to earn valuable teaching experience and professional pedagogical development through Graduate Teaching Assistantships. These competitive awards provide students with full tuition scholarships, a living stipend of $8,500, and an intensive training program for teaching French as a second language at the university level.
GTAs are given the opportunity to teach language classes each semester with the full support of our French pedagogy specialists. In addition to taking a focused Teaching Practicum in the first semester, GTAs are given frequent feedback on their teaching, and become an important part of the French Program teaching team.
Interested applicants should request consideration for these competitive positions in their Statement of Purpose essay and on the application. Please contact Dr. Eric Berlatsky for more information.
All full-time students , including international students, are eligible to apply for this award.
